Miss Ethnics Viet Nam was first organised in Da Lat City in the Central Highland province of Lam Dong in 2007, then in HCM City in 2012. The competition is one of main parts of the 5th "Quang Nam heritage festival" programme, aimed at responding to the 10th anniversary of the UNESCO convention on protecting intangible heritages and further strengthening the great national solidarity.

REIGNING MRS. WORLD APRIL LUFRIU TO VISIT VIETNAM

Vissai Saigon was the home of Mrs. April Lufriu, the winner of Mrs. World 2011 pageant during her visit to Ho Chi Minh City last week. The crowned beauty together with The President of MRS WORLD Pageant, Mr. David Z. Marmel have been visiting Ho Chi Minh City.

Mrs . Lufriu, a mother of two children who were fighting for blindness, bested over 50 candidates in last year's pageant held at Orlando, Florida during which Nguyen Thi Thu Huong from Ho Chi Minh City won the second runner up title.

VISSAI SAIGON CONGRATULATES CAMBODIAN POLICE FORCE

The management and staff of Vissai Saigon Hotel sent its congratulatory wishes to Cambodian Police Force that won the 2012 ASEAN Police Open Football Tournament held at Ho Chi Minh City’s Thong Nhat Stadium.

Vissai Saigon was privileged to be the accommodation venue of the participants of ASEAN Police Open Football Tournament last month.

The tournament was participated by Royal Thai Police Force, Public Security Ministry of Lao’s People’s Democratic Team, Australian Federal Police Force and the Cambodian Police Group.

The police forces in the ASEAN Region stayed at Vissai Saigon for 11 days during the tournament.

The Cambodian team checked out with a smile of a champion while the rest were humble enough to join in the victory of Cambodian Police Team.

Finishing second were the Thai Police Team, Laos came in third, Vietnam finished fourth while Australian Federal Police came last.

VISSAI SAIGON HOTEL RECEIVES CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE AWARD

The world's largest travel site, TripAdvisor has awarded Vissai Saigon Hotel with Certificate of Excellence based on the reviews that the hotel guests posted online.

TripAdvisor issued the excellence award to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews and is extended to qualifying businesses worldwide.

Ten percent of the accommodations listed on TripAdvisor received the same award. Vissai Saigon Hotel qualified the Certificate of Excellence award after the hotel maintained an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travelers on TripAdvisor.

The hotel also received quite a volume of outstanding reviews and feedbacks from their guests who stayed at the property within the last 12 months.

BIG BANG STOPS AT VISSAI SAIGON HOTEL

Vissai Saigon Hotel was the last stop of the famous Korean hip hop group, Big Bang, before leaving Ho Chi Minh City after their big performance at Coca Cola SoundFest 2012, in Phu Tho Stadium on Saturday April 14th.

Big Bang's visit to Vissai was never disclosed to the public to ensure that the band had time to freshen up and relax before taking their flight out of Ho Chi Minh City. However fans that failed to get a close glimpse of this famous hip hop group at the Phu Tho Stadium, followed the convoy of vehicles with the musicians all the way to the Vissai Saigon Hotel.

Big Bang became famous worldwide with their hip hop and pop songs after they were exposed on the Korean version of MTV.
